Politics in Unusual Places

You may wonder how a collection of people, or even just one individual, whose knowledge of governmental inner workings simmers slightly below the scope of a garden slug, could possibly play an effective game of politics.

She does, she is and she’s playing a different game.

Social politics are played so quietly, sometimes so subtly that to see it coming you would have to invest in several sessions with Alison Dubois. Though, not all manipulators are so clever, some are simply able to see an opportunity and capitalize on the venue before them .

This behavior is also commonly displayed in garden slugs.

The ones who deliver the somewhat unastute ploys dealing mostly with the perpetuation of invalid or misleading information are not really the major source of contention within the workplace (or social) scene. It’s the ones dealing with the well stacked deck, the creative ones, ah yes… The quiet ones. These are the ones towards whom one should promote constant vigilance..

Generally these are not the one you hear from as they are the ones feeding the directions to someone else. Almost always someone who does not display the mental or intestinal fortitude to challenge the primary manipulator.

Possibly a friendly soul, or just one who knows they can’t handle teetering so close to the edge.
